The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation 2015 Century Ride
The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health insurance plan. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded more than 7,500 grants valued at over $23M to children and their families across the United States. But it can only do so through the support of charitable contributors!
UHCCF’s funding is provided by contributions from individuals like Blaine Pollock, who supported the 2014 Century Ride! Thanks to Blaine Pollock, children across America can receive the support they need to grow up healthy and strong.
The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation facilitates access to health-related services that have the potential to significantly enhance the clinical condition or quality of life of children. Many simple things like this are just not fully covered by available commercial health insurance plans. Blaine Pollock has been involved in healthcare for many years, and has always been in favor of expanding coverage to the greatest common denominator.
Now, by assisting the UHCCF at the annual Century Ride, Blaine Pollock is ensuring the Foundation can continue to provide assistance with the cost of medical services. Thanks to Blaine Pollock and UHCCF, Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and need not have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible.
Last year, for the 2013 ride, $135,000 were raised, but this year, thanks to Blaine Pollock’s involvement, they’ve raised $200,000 to help save the lives of children! That’s more than quadruple the amount brought in before Blaine Pollock’s involvement!
Blaine Pollock’s support has been fundamental in helping the foundation pay for health services, treatments and therapies, many of which are still not covered by major health insurances. Because of his support, parents in financial difficulty won’t have to worry about going into debt to support their children. The future is a bright and beautiful place thanks to Blaine Pollock and The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation.
The UHCCF is increasingly grateful to Blaine Pollock for his annual support of the Century Ride. Blaine Pollock looks forward to bringing in even more capital next year!
