Philanthropist Blaine Pollock Set to Release Children’s Book and Donate Proceeds to Children’s Charities
Imagine that you could witness the birth of creation. Now, imagine that you’re able to witness this magnificence, not as a human being, but through the eyes of a dog. The mysteries of the Universe and all creation are still moments for Walter, the small white dog, who is tasked with naming every animal in creation as they appear upon the Earth.
In this allegory of how man became dog’s best friend, author Blaine Pollock pulls from theology, mythology and creates sheer poetic prose to tell the story of this small adventurous canine.
This instant children’s classic “O My Walter” takes the reader on a journey from the Garden of Eden where the little white dog finds himself surrounded by a host of characters, including a large yellow cat he deems a lion and a vaporous puff that metamorphosizes into a dragon.
Blaine Pollock, a well-known philanthropist and businessman, decided to write the book because he wanted to pass a legacy on to his grandchildren and the generations to follow.
“The goal was to give them something that money could not buy and time could not take away,” Blaine Pollock said. “This was and is an expression of his love, words of wisdom, and a window into the soul.”
Blaine Pollock found the inspiration for this children’s novel in his own home, with his constant companion and dear friend, the dog, Walter.
“He (Walter) is also one of the driving forces behind these stories,” Blaine Pollock said. “Walter is my side kick, my best friend, a companion with whom I share all of my own adventures.”
Blaine Pollock said he got the idea to create the stories starring Walter because dogs are easy to read; they love unconditionally and pass no judgment. Creating a series of adventures starring such a pure soul was an easy transition as a dog lover, according to Blaine Pollock.
“I believe on top of leaving a legacy to for my family, I’m also immortalizing and honoring my best buddy, Walter,” Blaine Pollock said.
All proceeds from sales of the book will be donated to various children’s hospitals and charities across the country. According to Blaine Pollock, there are many more adventures in store for Walter in both the fictional realm and in the real world.
“There is a lot that can be done with a dog who is telling the history of the world,” Blaine Pollock said. “There are many, many adventures ahead for Walter and his readers.”
According to Blaine Pollock, children and adults alike will be swept away by the imagination and fantasy of the book.
“I really hope that people can walk away not just with a positive overall feeling about our history and purpose here on Earth, but also that the book promotes the use of imagination, which is something I believe the world is in a short supply of,” Blaine Pollock said. “Also, it would such an honor to know that I’ve created something that can both inspire and motivate. I know that children, in particular, have a special connection to animals. There are a million movies available with talking animals. I hope that kids who read my book will use the feelings the prose evokes to create something of their own.”
While the fictional Walter is not able to speak, he can communicate telepathically with both children and adults, according to Blaine Pollock.
“I think that this is a book that will open hearts and minds,” Blaine Pollock said.
“O My Walter” will be published and available for purchase in the next several months.
“This is so surreal for me,” Blaine Pollock said. “I’ve always dreamed of writing a book that could benefit the charities and causes near and dear to my heart. Now, with Walter as my inspiration, we’re making it happen, and children across the United States who are struggling with illness will benefit.”
